The data was collected from 2020 to May 2022 and is available in ESRI Shapefile format, including geographic boundaries and key attributes of each ward area. The dataset aims to support census planning, management, and analysis by offering crucial insights into population distribution and characteristics. Purpose The primary purpose of this dataset is to serve as a geographical reference for the ward areas used in the 2022 PHC. It aims to aid various census activities, including demographic analysis, ward area allocation, and strategic planning. The dataset is intended to improve the accuracy and efficiency of census operations by providing precise and up-to-date geographic information. Data Structure The dataset is provided in the ESRI Shapefile format, a popular vector data format for Geographic Information System (GIS) applications. Geographic Coverage The dataset covers the entire geographic area of Tanzania. The boundaries of the ward areas are drawn according to administrative regions and internal geographical features. For one to three teams together there is one supervisor and a driver. A total of 306 mappers, 165 supervisors and 6 GIS experts and IT (station in the server) were used to collect and editing data. Data collection took place from January 14, 2020 until May 30, 2022. Interviewing took place everyday throughout the fieldwork period, although interviewing teams were permitted to take one day off for editing and correction before sending data to server. For one to three teams together there is one supervisor and a drive The role of the supervisor was to coordinator field data collection activities, including management of the field teams, supplies and equipment, coordinate with local authorities concerning the survey plan and make arrangements for any boundaries conflict (communicate with responsible ministry). Additionally, the field supervisor assigned the work to the interviewers, spot checked work, make sure all data are sent to central server daily or when there is stable internet. Communicate with central sever officers to make clarification about any doubt in his/her team The data editing, since the programme for data collectioon connect direct to server, so data editing was done in field with team after checking by office team if there is overlapping or shifting of boundary, or naming of the place or coding. The spatial accuracy of the dataset is estimated to be within 3 meters, ensuring precise location information for each ward boundary.
